ARCTIC WINTER
WEEK IN NORWAY

Embark on an Unforgettable Arctic Photography Expedition to Varanger Peninsula!

Welcome to an extraordinary seven-night, eight-day photography journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Varanger Peninsula in Northern Norway. This Arctic adventure, set in the heart of early spring, offers a unique opportunity to capture the vibrant life of migratory birds, mesmerizing coastal scenery, and the raw beauty of the frozen tundra.

Our days are filled with effortless yet enchanting walks along the shorelines, where a myriad of subjects await your lens. As night falls, we chase the spectacular northern lights, and at dawn, we rise early to witness the magical golden hour that paints the Arctic in ethereal hues.

This trip is not just about birds but about capturing the essence of the Arctic—its dramatic icy landscapes, rolling waves, and rare wildlife encounters. Witness the remarkable sight of boxing mountain hares from a specially built outdoor studio, and with luck, photograph the elusive Arctic fox in its pristine white winter coat!

Weather conditions vary from the mild coastal climate to the fierce Arctic winds inland, providing us with an ever-changing canvas to work with. For those seeking an extra challenge, we offer an optional snowshoeing excursion into the tundra to capture the region’s characteristic species, including ptarmigans, willow grouse, snow buntings, and reindeer.

We will also explore the coastal waters and embark on a boat trip, where our target species are black-legged kittiwakes, cormorants, stellar’s eiders, king eiders, common eiders, gulls, sandpipers, and many other seabirds. If fortune favors us, we may even encounter whales along the way!
