LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Join a wonderful landscape photography workshop in Southern Lapland! The area is among the most interesting in the Nordic countries due to its versatility. There are four Finnish national parks in the nearby areas, each with its unique characteristics and specialties, which change with the seasons.

We offer a nature and landscape photography workshop in two different seasons, so you can choose the time that suits you best! You will meet professional Finnish photography experts who will show you the best practices for shooting the Nordic landscape.

You have a vast selection to shoot during these weeks. In autumn, we photograph old forests and their diverse species, high cliffs, deep canyons, colorful marshlands shrouded in morning dew, small ponds, ancient grey pine trees, misty mornings, delicate sunsets, and wonderfully meandering riverscapes bathed in morning sunlight.

If you've seen pictures of snow-covered trees, the blue moment, the aurora borealis, and wind-shaped snow formations, it may be that they were photographed here, in Northern and North-East Finland. For the best Aurora photography, we recommend January and the beginning of February, when the trees are usually covered with thick snow and the day is very short. At this period of time we have plenty of time to concentrate on Northern Lights photography, even though it is normally the coldest time of the year, and the temperature can be below -20 degrees.

FACTS AND ITINERARY

You travel with a local photography guide to different destinations by car. The guide is a local professional and knows the best spots for beautiful shooting in the area.

To get to different destinations, we walk along paths; daily distances are about 1-4 km. You have to carry your own photographic equipment in your rucksack. The guide takes care of meals, so you only have enough drinks and snacks in your backpack for the day trips.

We talk about photography, for example, about the light, equipment, and technical issues. We may discuss the artistic perspective and your way of thinking about photography in general. Learning from other photographers is a wonderful addition and an extra positive aspect during this trip, so we recommend this tour for both new beginners and more experienced photographers.

One of the most important parts of the schedule is the showtime for you at the end of the week. In this part, you can introduce your best shots of the workshop with a projector on the big screen and tell your stories from your perspective.
